Born in a coastal village near Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, Mr. P. Sethuraman began his journey with a strong academic foundation in Mathematics and Chartered Accountancy. In 1978, he joined the Transworld Group, where over a distinguished 40-year career, he rose to become Finance Director and CFO, playing a pivotal role in transforming the company into India’s leading container shipping operator with a fleet of 24 vessels.
Beyond the corporate world, Mr. P. Sethuraman has made significant contributions to culture, education, and social welfare. As Chairman of The Fine Arts Society, Mumbai, he spearheaded the expansion of its renowned music academy. As President of the Rotary Club of Chembur North, he led impactful initiatives, including rebuilding an Tribal (Adivasi) school and supporting healthcare for terminally ill patients.
Currently the Vice President of Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, and formerly Vice President of SIES, Mr. P. Sethuraman remains deeply involved in enriching Mumbai’s educational and cultural fabric. He is also actively associated with several religious and community organizations, embodying a lifelong commitment to service, tradition, and leadership.
