Dr. V. Shankar is a multifaceted leader whose extraordinary journey spans the worlds of business, education, arts, and public service. An acclaimed academician and accomplished entrepreneur, he is equally revered for his silent yet transformative contributions to society.

Currently serving as the President of the South Indian Education Society (SIES) and the Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, Mumbai, Dr. Shankar is at the helm of two of India’s most respected institutions—one nurturing over 25,000 students across the education spectrum and the other, Asia’s largest cultural auditorium preserving and promoting Indian classical arts.

His legacy is reflected in the visionary institutions he has helped build and grow, including the Sri Kanchi Mahaswami Vidya Mandir, his dream project rooted in traditional values and holistic learning. A philanthropist and cultural torchbearer, Dr. Shankar also serves as Trustee and Chairperson of numerous national trusts focused on women's welfare, Vedic scholarship, national integration, and spiritual heritage. Dr. Shankar, with over five decades of experience in public service and community healthcare, focuses on Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) and has driven impactful initiatives to transform tribal livelihoods in rural Maharashtra.

An professional with diverse qualifications—B.Sc. (Hons.), LL.B., ACA, Grad CWA, DFM (Hons.), Ph.D.—Dr. Shankar has also in the past held leadership roles in the corporate sector, including as Whole-time Director of Ranbaxy Laboratories and Chairman of Deccan Chargers (IPL team). In 1998, he voluntarily stepped away from the corporate world to dedicate his life to nation-building through education, culture, and service.
