Environment Essay Competition
As part of the World Environment Week 2025 celebrations, the SIES Indian Institute of Environment Management (IIEM) and SIES One India One People (OIOP) Foundation, in collaboration with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), hosted engaging student competitions to raise awareness about plastic pollution and sustainability.
Despite school vacations, we were thrilled to receive over 120 entries in the Essay Writing Competition on the theme "Our Environment, Our Responsibility – Ending Plastic Pollution”. Divided into Primary and Secondary categories, the essays reflected deep awareness, creative thinking, and practical solutions from students across grades 6–12.
In addition, a Poster Making Competition saw over 40 vibrant entries, creatively portraying the urgent need for plastic waste reduction and environmental conservation.
The winners in both categories were felicitated on June 24, 2025, at SIES IIEM in a special award ceremony held in physical mode. These initiatives reaffirm our belief in nurturing young environmental champions and giving them a platform to express and act for a sustainable future.
